Christians Around The World “Fast” And “Pray” For North Korea

North Korea Missions, with website www.nkprayer.com, said Christians would continue with the action till July 10, "in response to the great spiritual attack on the youth of North Korea as well as their own nations."

It stressed that, "North Korean children are being attacked through malnutrition, systematic brainwashing with atheistic ideologies, and forced idolatrous worship."

Especially Christians often suffer as North Korea’s Stalinist system is based on total devotion of the individual to an ideology promoted by the late leader Kim Il Sung and his successor and son, Kim Jong Il, observers who recently visited the country said.

EXPECTING GOD

During the 40 days of praying, "Christians from the US, China, the Ukraine, South Korea, Russia, Japan, Kenya, Liberia" and even North Korea itself are expecting "God to move" NK Missions said in a statement monitored by BosNewsLife.

However the prayer and fasting event will not be limited to North Korea alone, NK Missions stressed. "The youth in the US are being attacked through tragedies like [the recent massacre at] Virginia Tech [university campus] and are being tempted into greater drug use, gangs, physical impurities, and depressions," the mission group added.

"And the youth of Africa are being left orphaned through the AIDS crisis, while the children of South Korea, Japan, and beyond are being more and more neglected with the degeneration of the family unit," NK Missions claimed.

This is the second annual 40-day fasting and praying event organized by NK Missions. During this period, the group said, participants will receive daily prayer updates, fasting guides, emailed reminders of the day of the fast while "a community blog" will be available "where fasters will post their prayers."
