killings and bomb threats against Christians, Radio Australia and human rights watchers reported Tuesday, October 26.

The bombs, 123 in all ,were found in an Islamic graveyard in the town of Poso, Radio Australia quoted police as saying that eight of the devices had been primed and filled with nails and sharpened metal fragments.

This discovery came just days after gunmen reportedly shot and wounded a man in the grounds of the Bethany Christian Church in the town.

A Hindu woman was shot and two Christian men were wounded in the same region last week after shots were fired into their houses, Radio Australia said.

CHRISTIANS HACKED

Two Christian men were reportedly hacked to death on the same day near the capital, Palu. Central Sulawesi has seen intermittent intercommunal violence between Christians and Muslims since the government brokered a ceasefire there two years ago.

Elsewhere in Indonesia bombs were discovered last week near the Protestant Maranatha Church in the center of Ambon, human rights watchdog International Christian Concern (ICC) said.

Two days after the October 21 discovery of the first bomb, "15 home made bombs" were found in a dressing room in a building adjacent to the church, ICC claimed.

It was not immediately clear who was responsible for the explosive devices,  but Muslim militants have stepped up attacks against Christians,  human rights watchers say.
