BosNewsLife, nearly crashed hours after the London bomb attacks, its founder admitted Saturday, July 9.

Stefan J. Bos, who is also BosNewsLife’s Chief International Correspondent, said apparently "millions of people from around the world" tried to access the website at the same time to read its version of events.  "At one point I was told by our webmasters that we had over 100 visitors per second and that was only the amount they could measure…"

The traffic, which Bos claimed "broke all BosNewsLife records so far and lasted for many hours", began when the news agency was among the first to report on the Internet that militants related to the al Qaeda terror network claimed responsibility for Thursday’s  attacks in which over 50 people died.

Bos said he wanted to "apologize to BosNewsLife customers who may have had difficulties accessing all articles for several hours. We worked however around the clock to both solve the problem and keep our audience informed."

He stressed it has become clear from the high volume of traffic that BosNewsLife is increasingly "the news source of choice for compassionate professionals caring for a hurting world. We thank them for their trust." Bos stressed that emergency measures were in place to ensure the website did not go down.

"We were able to continue broadcasting the most important news." The measures were implemented this year after what Bos described as "a major attack in November of 2004 by one or more Russian hackers who apparently opposed our mission of reporting on persecuted Christians, Jewish people and others in need."

Based in Budapest, BosNewsLife began operations May 1 last year when Hungary and nine other mainly former Communist nations joined the European Union.
